The University of Lodz Publishing House undertakes numerous activities to include the scientific content that it publishes in a wide circulation of scientific information and distribute electronic and paper versions in Poland and abroad. By implementing a policy of disseminating research results and scientific content, we are systematically contributing to open access collections.
EBSCO – global distribution of electronic publications for library collections
We are the first Polish publisher whose electronic publications are listed in the catalogue of EBSCO, which is the world’s largest provider of scientific research content and technology to libraries and other organisations. Our publications regularly contribute to the library collections offered by EBSCO to institutions around the world.
Paid rental and sales platforms
We cooperate with the largest Polish digital library and e-book rental library, IBUK LIBRA. Through it, our electronic publications are delivered immediately after publication to university library catalogues and temporary access platforms for individual customers. We also upload e-books directly to specialist and professional publishing platforms such as: IBUK.PL, E-CONTENTA.COM, LEX (Wolters Kluwer) or NASBI.PL.
Distribution of electronic publications to on-line bookshops in Poland
The electronic publications of the University of Lodz Publishing House are included in the databases of key nationwide e-book distributors: EBOOKPOINT.PL, VIRTUALO.PL, IBUK.PL, WOBLINK.COM. This way they are available in most online bookshops, including the biggest ones such as NEXTO.PL, EMPIK.COM, LEGIMI.PL. Through distributors we offer both paid and open access e-books.
University of Lodz Repository
Open-access and closed-access publications are placed in the University of Lodz Repository, which collects and disseminates the scientific output of UL employees. This ensures the visibility of our texts in international reference databases (BazEkon, CEJSH) and indexing through Google Scholar.
Scientific content databases
We transfer the licences of journal texts to the De Gruyter Open platform, which applies on our behalf to prestigious databases worldwide. We also include our monographs and journals in other databases with different specificities and coverage, such as EBSCO, CEEOL, BazHum, Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ. These measures guarantee wide access to our texts and high rates of citation.
Distribution of paper books in Poland and abroad
Our cooperation with the largest Polish distributor – OSDW AZYMUT – guarantees the availability of our paper publications in all stationary bookshops and in the majority of on-line bookshops in Poland, as well as abroad: in the offer of AMAZON.COM and its branches outside the USA, e.g. in Great Britain, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Spain, Brazil.
We expand our sales network through contacts with other nationwide book distributors (Ateneum, Super Siódemka) and local distributors (REMA).
Our publications are available in Empik shops, PWN science bookshops, as well as in most online bookshops, e.g. BONITO.PL, GANDALF.COM.PL, RAVELO.PL. CZYTAM.PL, PROFIT24.
Every bookseller has the opportunity to import our book within 24 hours.
As regards international distribution of publications, we cooperate with ABE-IPS, which handles orders from foreign clients in Poland.
In co-edition with the Jagiellonian University Publishing House, we prepare publications for international distribution through the catalogues of the Columbia University Press.
